Jennifer Besinger is the Technical Services Manager for the County of Grande Prairie in this role she serves as Landfill Manager for both the West Grande Prairie Regional Landfill and Clairmont Centre for Recycling and Waste Management.  There are also three transfer stations and 15 recycle bin locations throughout the County. The County’s commitment to environmental stewardship is ever getting stronger by reducing, reusing, recycling and rethinking. 

 

Although Jennifer has her Bachelor of Education Degree from the U of A in Edmonton, her career path has been focused around utilities providing her with extensive experience with water/wastewater operations, management and most recently solid waste management.  She currently holds her AEP Certification Level 2 in both water treatment/distribution and Level 1 in wastewater collection/treatment. Jennifer is an active member of SWANA, Alberta Recycling, AWWOA and now Alberta CARE as a Director.

 

Jennifer's past work experience had her in British Columbia for nine years with Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) in the Kamloops area before returning in 2010 to sunny Alberta where she was with MD of Greenview as Manager of Environmental Services prior to being with the County of Grande Prairie. She enjoys the out-of-doors and spending as much time as possible with her horses.
